What is the OHCIA Conference?

This not-to-be-missed event brings together all stakeholders in the health care industry to talk about the importance of the health care interpreter’s role as part of the medical team.  Whether you are an interpreter, health professional, community leader, or just interested in health equity, this is the event for you!  

Speaker/ Proposal Information

The OHCIA Conference draws a diverse crowd  of Language Access  advocates, Health care Administrators, Goverment, Interpreters and Interpreter Agencies. The promise of exchamging ideas and exciting solutions to improve Language Access to all LEP patients in Oregon.

OHCIA Conference proposals should include a brief written synopsis of your presentation and a brief bio about yourself.  Show and tell something cool you've  found or dreamed up to improve Language Access - no sales pitches please!  Challenge us, inspire us, and show us how your idea can transform patient care or healthcare.


Proposals should be submitted online by September 18, 2015.  Once submitted, your proposal will be reviewed by the HOHCIA Conference team.  Please include your contact information in case the team has questions about your proposal.  All presenters will be notified of their application status by Sept 28th.
