Logistics of Interpreter Profession

Amanda Wheeler-Kay has worked as a healthcare/community interpreter for 10 years.  She has also worked as a bilingual social worker for multiple agencies including Child Welfare and North Clackamas School District.

For the last several years, Amanda has also been active in educating providers, clients and interpreters on language equity issues, both individually and in conjunction with other entities such as Catholic Charities, Lifeworks NW, and Clackamas County.  Select workshops and presentations include Best Practices in Working with Interpreters and Limited English Proficient Clients; Fundamentals of Interpreting; and Mental Health First Aid workshops in Spanish.
