OHCIA is proud to partner with CareOregon to offer financial assistance to take the 60-hour health care interpreter (HCIs) training, and also support individuals to reach and remain credentialed with the State of Oregon.
Key components of the project include:
Offering the 60-hour health care interpreter training course to new students who are committed to obtaining their qualification/certification with the state.
Following students with an assigned case manager from the entry of the training program all the way through credentialing.
Reaching out to those credentialed HCIs and guiding them through the re-credentialing process.
Offering CEUs to credentialed HCIs that are in need to renew state credentials.
$200.00 stipend - Students in this program who successfully complete OHCIA's 60-hour training and submit the state credential letter to OHCIA in a timely manner will receive a $200.00 stipend. The stipend is intended to cover expenses incurred by the students during the time they are studying and applying for state credentialing, such as childcare, technology, time off work, unexpected expenses, etc.
In order to be considered, the candidate must have the requirements and the commitment to work towards Oregon Health Care Authority Interpreter Qualification or Certification:
